Green Grand Prix
A corporate business meeting in the morning; coffee break; lunch. Then, in the afternoon, an activity for the entire team. The event for Innogy Italia required considerable coordination of the various activities and, primarily, the search for a strategic location. Indeed, much of the success of an event depends on the location: it’s not sufficient just to find a “beautiful” place that is convenient to get to, it’s also necessary to ensure that all the elements actually are strategic for the organisation and suitable for meeting the needs expressed by the customer. Regarding the Innogy Italia event, after careful selection, the solution found was that of an elegant 400 sq.m loft in the centre of Milan, normally used as a fashion showroom and reinvented for the occasion in a “total white” look. By rationally dividing the space, according to the programme and the activities planned for the meeting, an initial meeting area was created for the staff meeting, featuring all the necessary technological equipment. Then, right next to it, a relaxation area was set up for the coffee break and lunch.
The remaining 200+ sq.m were instead used for the team building activity carried out in the afternoon, in which the entire staff, divided into teams, dedicated their efforts to the design of pits and a circuit for their cars, strictly electric, which subsequently challenged each other in a real indoor Grand Prix. In so doing, the team building activity was not only able to involve everyone present, but it did so by focussing strongly on the theme of electricity (the company’s reference sector) and sustainability.
The atmosphere of collaboration, fun and healthy competition created made the “challenge” really an impassioned affair and again emphasised the added value that a professional, original and well-thought-out team building activity can represent for a company. At the end of the evening, in an atmosphere of serenity and true sharing, there was the award ceremony for the race, and it all drew to a close with dinner at a nearby restaurant.
BRIEF: To organise a one-day meeting, in a single location, which included a business meeting in the morning and a team building activity in the afternoon. At a location in the centre of Milan.
CHALLENGE: The time available to organise everything was quite short and suitable, versatile and very large locations are not easy to find in the centre of Milan. The real challenge, however, was coming up with a team building activity that was totally “green”, associating the themes of sustainability and electricity, the reference sector of the client company.
